In 1965, after four years of working as a tire store salesman and manager, 21- year-old Jim Harlow opened the doors of Harlow Tire & Service in Nankin Township, later to become Westland, MI. Providing reliable products and support to our customers was our main focus then, and we continue to offer the same dependable service today. Since then, we have grown from tires and installations to complete auto service, including oil changes, trailer hitches and custom wheels. Our technicians are state-certified in various areas of automotive repair, and include a pre-1973 master mechanic. A unique aspect of our company is that we custom fit vehicles with the right size tires and wheel offset to achieve "the look" that is so desired. . Our slogan, "The Name To Trust", is the promise we give our customers, and we make every effort to prove that we stand behind that promise. It is a standard we demand of our employees and ourselves.

In 2006, we expanded into an 8-bay, state of the art repair facility, including a 30,000 lb lift that can accommodate medium to heavy-duty trucks, cube vans, and motor homes.

Our customers often tell us that they like doing business with us because we are family owned and operated. The way we provide services leaves them with more confidence and a better sense of security than a "big-chain" company would. We pay our technicians an hourly wage, not a percentage of your final bill, like most of our competitors. We will never knowingly sell you something that you do not need, but we will point out things about your vehicle that should be replaced to ensure your vehicle and its' passengers can travel safely.
